The Who's TOMMY

June 19, 2008

Music and Lyrics by Pete Townshend

Book by Pete Townshend and Des McAnuff

The benefit performance of The Who's TOMMY Musical at the Ricardo Montalban Theatre in Hollywood was an arousing success. This fundraiser assisted The Elevate Hope Foundation to raise much needed funds for the Music and Arts Enrichment Program for Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services.

Invited guests assembled in the theatre for cocktails and a silent auction of music memorabilia including rare items from Bon Jovi, Babyface, Ringo Starr, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, and many more.

Co-Founders Sheila E. and Lynn Mabry, joined by director Brian Purcell, introduced the special performance and gave a short introduction of the collaboration between The Elevate Hope Foundation (EHF) and Flicker House Productions, as well as EHF's goals and mission and the importance of this cause.

The performance of The Who's TOMMY rock opera was provided in conjunction with the state-of-the-art high definition EXP3D sound with each audience member listening through Bose headphones.

The VIP after party hosted by The Elevate Hope Foundation capped off the evening while guests mingled with Tommy cast members and celebrity guests including Jack Coleman of Heroes, radio personality Josefa Salinas and Academy Awards Director Louis J. Horvitz. Dan Seminario was awarded a weekend stay at the Cove Resort in the Bahamas as he obtained the winning raffle ticket.

Participating cast members included Alice Ripley as "Mrs. Walker", Nona Hendryx as "The Acid Queen", Jenna Leigh Green as "Sally Simpson", Aleks Pevec as "Tommy", Tom Schmid as "Captain Walker", Hank Adams as "Uncle Ernie", PJ Griffith as "Cousin Kevin".

Our organization would like to personally thank the director, producers, and cast of The Who's TOMMY, as well as our donors, sponsors, and volunteers for supporting this worthwhile cause.
